retirement oz

When do you think Ricky Ponting will retire?

I think he is just playing for the record, he probably wants to retire soon. I feel he will retire end of this year or pehaps and the start of the next year.

  1. He's history, will be kicked out some time soon
  2. Don't know No , man . He is very good. Ups & down are part of career. He is playing fro his country
  3. I thought somebody else was eager to play till 2011 at home, wasnt that for a record?lol
  4. like what happen 2 hayden any bowler (zaheer, bhajji) can force him 2 take early retirement
  5. Let him retire when he feels like, no hurry. And he is not in that poor form at the moment either, that he should rush in retirement talks now. Whether he gets the record or not, he should play for Australia for as long as his stay is benefiting the team. Neither sooner nor later than that.
  6. in 4 years
  7. Armpit you are wrong...Dhoni will be flicked for his poor attendance record, Ponting will retire as captain in 4-5 years.
  8. after harby shing makes nanga panga again
  9. HE IS YOUNG AT THIS TIME
  10. After the Ashes Series if his form and body don't improve.
  11. about 2013
  12. Thick head player(s) like Ricky(Cheater) Ponting are not born to retire easily, rather they wait to get humiliated as hell before getting kicked out from the team. Old assies player(s) seems champion on it and Ricky(cheater) Poting is no exception.
  13. After the next world cup
  14. He will try to do a Matthew Hayden. Remember Hayden wanted to play till the Ashes 2009. But he was forced to retire because of his lack of form. And Ponting will try to drag on till 2011 World Cup. But it will all depend on his form. He is not the brute force he used to be. He, at his best, could destroy any bowling. But such an innings from Ponting is a rarity nowadays. He is scoring runs, but he has work extremely hard to it. The burden to score runs and to Captain the team, is more evident as his team is no more dominating. And he also is missing the insurance of having players like Hayden, Langer, Gilchrist, Martyn, etc in the batting line up. But I think, he will drain the last bit of his energy to drag on till 2011 Cricket World Cup.
  15. Thick head player(s) like M.S.(Cheater) Dhoni are not born to retire easily, rather they wait to get humiliated as hell before getting kicked out from the team. Old indian player(s) seems champion on it and M.S.(cheater) Dhoni is no exception.
  16. he is by far australias best player. i sense jealousy its like saying Kallis, Tendulkar and Dravid should retire thats how big a player he is, maybe not as bid as sachin, but right up there with dravid and kallis
  17. He'll retire when he's ready to or when Cricket Australia think his form is too far gone for recovery, and not before.
  18. I don't think Australia can afford to let him retire in the near future as they have lost too many senior players and they need him there to help rebuild the team. Once the new team is established he will probably retire, I'd say he won't retire until at least after the 2011 World Cup. Besides he hasn't been batting too badly in tests with 1 century and 4 50s in 12 innings in the home and away series against South Africa at an abverage of 40. The same thing will happen to India in 2-3 years with Dravid, Tendulkar and Laxman all over 34 years old and Sehwag 31, Imagine what the Indian Cricket board would say if they lost Tendulkar, Laxman and Dravid in 3 years time and then Sehwag decided to retire at 34 (the same age Ponting is now) do you think the Indian Board would allow him to retire?
  19. he is gonna retire in 2012 after cb series india vs new zealnd vs australia
  20. His days are numbered.
