How much money should I save...?
My fiance and i are getting married December 18, 2010. How much money percentage wise, should we start to save. The budget will most likely be anywhere from $15,000-$17,500 with help from both of our families. Help would be appreciated. Thanks. I will also be re enlisting in the Marine Corps and getting a bonus from $40,000-$47,000 but I would like to use as little of that money as possible on the wedding.

- Congratulations on your wedding. My suggestion would be to save every dime you can. If you land up saving $25,000 to pay for the wedding, great. If it only costs you 20k, you have 5k in hand to use for other things. If both families help out, that's even better. As a newly married couple, please start you financial lives out right. Get out of and stay out of debt. Please read a book called the Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey. This book is fantastic. I wish I had read it 30 years ago. It will put you and you fiance on the path to financial independence and prosperity. If you pay cash for everything, including the wedding, and do not use or go into debt, you will be winners. My wife and I read it and are very happy about the results. It will change your whole perspective on finances. Pay cash, save cash, use cash. No debt. Again save all you can and pay for the wedding, and everything else in cash. Congratulations on your wedding and Semper Fidelis my friend. BOOOYAAAA Good Luck
