Going door to door in a retirement home explaining to all the Christians they were wrong?

So, I went room to room in a retirement home explaining to all the elderly Christians that they were wrong and there wasn't a heaven and everything they had believed was a lie. Some people I felt I really got through to but others looked kind of confused. How can I increase my effectiveness so that they can embrace life as it is without fantasies?

  1. They'll probably forget it by tomorrow. You should too.
  2. I feel sorry for you.
  3. you will find the solution as always under a bridge. The other trolls will explain. You know, it would be nice if you went actually to a nursing home and did talk with some of the people there. Bring a friendly pet.
  4. are you trying to kill them
  5. Just let other people believe what they want to believe, that way everyone is happy.
  6. what a bi**h you are and i'm an atheist
  7. At the risk of getting reported to Yahoo! Answers, you are an incredibly inconsiderate individual. What on earth would cause you to do such a terrible thing? You give atheists a bad name. LEAVE THEM ALONE.
  8. Bring margaritas.
  9. If I believed that, I would have to think that you are one of the saddest people on the planet.
  10. That's not the best idea, i mean think how p*ssed you get when Jehovah's Witnesses knock on your door. They'll be too stuck in their ways to change....leave them be.
  11. Geriatric psychology is very much of the mindset that the elderly should be left to believe as they wish. It is important for them to come to terms with their death, and confusing their thoughts on the afterlife is unlikely to help them do so. Bottom line: even if you were right, you're doing more harm than good. So what if they believe the wrong thing? Let it be. You'll have more luck in a college dorm.
  12. What's the point in doing something like that? I dislike anyone who tries to push their religious beliefs or lack thereof on other people. Just let them be. It isn't as though the beliefs of some 80 year-old person in a nursing home are bothering you. By the way, I work with geriatric patients and I seriously doubt that nursing home personnel would just let you go door to door and bug their patients like that. In most places you would've been escorted out so fast that it would've made your head spin.
  13. You have to ask this again? Do you have the memory of a goldfish?
  14. so basically you went around and dashed people's hopes?
  15. How interesting. Since no one else here has been able to prove there is no God, no doubt you have a definite proof. Please tell us all about it.
  16. i'm surprised they didn't beat you with their walkers. how silly and insensitive if this truly happened. personally i think you are just making comments to try and get a rise out of people. most elderly people would probably have looked at you like you escaped a mental institution. they are laughing about you right now over dinner and probably praying for your mental well being. these people have been through hell and back and they KNOW God is fully in their lives for they have walked with Him through hell and back and lived to tell the story!
  17. I wish you all the luck for what you are doing. Numbers may not be so important as to how effectively you can extend your sincere effort. The few souls you have convinced may be able to relate it to other few and so it will go on to many ears without you noticing it. Right or Wrong can be subjective however because as I may agree with you in telling the Christians that they were wrong in their belief but are you really certain you are right in your belief too? How sure are you and what right do you have to tell others that they are wrong? Some actions on how you choose to live your life without necessarily spreading any word can be effective enough to convince that you are right. Take care that those who do not agree with you may make some moves that will hurt you and the others. I wish you the best.
  18. You've got to be a troll. Why would you want to bring pain to anyone living their last days? They,(and I would be too) are very comfortable with the knowledge they will soon see their loved ones. I know you can't be serious, but just reading what you've said makes me want to come through the screen and strangle you!
  19. That is terrible. You shouldn't go forcing your beliefs on them. There are quite a few misconceptions you may have. They have been kind to others, working as hard as possible, and helping others, hoping they will be helped in return. Be careful when you do that. If they believed you, you just told them that all the hard work they had done was a waste and that they should have just ignored the homeless, ignored those in need, and lived without the friendly presence of a congregation. How would you like it if everything anyone told you about Evolution was wrong and that it was a lie? Religion is so people can be better people. By telling them that is wrong, you haven't ruined their day, but at that age, perhaps their life. If you want to get through to them, just tell them to live life to the fullest. Have fun! Don't tell them to lose hope and forget everything they believed in.
