What is the best way to save money on groceries. How do I get started?
I have seen on the news where people spend 17 bucks on $100 worth of groceries! I want to be able to find those savings too. I cut coupons and look for whats on sale at the different grocery stores close to where I live ( wal-mart, Kroger, Meijer) but I guess I just dont know about different options like double coupons and if there is anything else out there. what are the best web sites to print off coupons? any advice would be welcome.

- buy only sale items, use coupons and only eat out once a month.
- Alright first go to Aldis they have a lot of things for cheap prices all you need is a quarter for the cart but they give you the quarter back.also do not buy to much things or else it will cost a lot of money.
- Saving that kind of money at the grocery store takes ordinary coupon clipping to a whole new level. I have a family member who saves like this. I'll describe how he does it. 1. He buys the paper every Sunday for the coupon section, and collects these from other people who do not use them. He also looks through every magazine he finds laying around. 2. He has a small office in his home designated to this task alone. He has separate files for the coupons, and categorizes them according to date, and food groups. 3. He shops at three, or more grocery stores on a weekly basis, matching up the coupons, to specific sales each store is running. He also has a layout of each of those grocery stores, so he knows where everything is before he gets there, and organizes his coupons accordingly. 4. He sends away for every rebate you can imagine. As you can see, this is not what the average person is willing to do. He enjoys doing all this, and for him, it has become a hobby. That's the only way you end up saving that kind of money. Hope this helped you.
- It all depends if you are comitted, but let me tell you... when you see the money you save, you get hooked!! LoL. it will take some time at first to set up a coupon book and clip coupons, but honestly, an hour a week for $500 a year savings on groceries is worth it!! I clip sunday papers coupons and print them offline. For example, if you buy DOWNY, go the website, sign up for email list, and youll get coupons. In the last month, I have saved $40 with coupons, not including price matching groceries at walk-mart from local grocers like ALDI and SWEETBAY. You can also join coupon clubs where you swap coupons. I not only save on groceries, but eating out as well. Buy one get one free are my FAVES!! Savings are there, you just have to be willing to put the time in. there are also sites to print coupons from like couponmoms.com Good luck.. and once you see the money you save, you will be HOOKED!! Good luck.
- I'd recommend a coupon swap service like Coupon Crash (http://www.couponcrash.com/). Instead of throwing out your unwanted coupons, you mail them in to the site. You get credits, which you can use to request coupons for the products you purchase regularly. That way you get the full value of the coupons in your Sunday paper even when they publish coupons for products you never use.
