- Generally the warmer the better. Somewhere like California is always a popular option
- Met a very wealthy American recently while waiting for a vehicle repair and he was too . We chatted a while talking about our various travel experiences and it turned out he was able to afford a couple of homes apart from his USA base in Maryland . And we found common agreement on the west coast of France By the bay of Biscay . Reasons. Not too many insect pests , Mosquito's ,Sand flies Etc . Not too hot in summer ,or cold in winter. Clean air,very little industry. Less crowded than the more popular med coast .That's too hot anyway. Good quality,clean food .reasonably priced, and excellent wine. Friendly locals . property prices reasonable. Taxes reasonable . No extreme weather like hurricanes or earthquakes. No sharks nr the beaches only oil spills every few years . Oh and lots of Archaeology too look at . Good travel by air and road and rail.. He had travelled far and wide in his life ,and knew the far east and middle east , Scandinavian countries , and most of Europe . He did have homes in the mountain states of USA as well. He didn't know the South American countries and lots of Americans live there.. Its nice to be rich Hey
- If I were rich I'd buy my own island either in the Pacific or in Greece ! Perhaps live on one of the Hawaiian Islands, one that is less visited. Other than that, California is the place to go. . Edit. . . I forgot my dream place. . . Pago Pago. . . I'd love to live here !!!

- I have no idea but I sure do hope that the guys and gals that recently got rich from bonuses paid by their Wall Street employers find the best places. The United States does not need them nor do we want them. They are without honor and there type is a detriment to decency.
- A wealthy retired person should buy a home in whatever country he was fortunate enough to live and work in to earn his wealth.
