  1. o i love horses ok first you can cut back on some things and put like $5 a week in a savings acount!!!!!!!!!
  2. It depends on where you live. In Michigan they are really cheap like under $1000. You can get a really good riding horse in Shipshewana out of the slaughter pen...save a horses life while your at it.
  3. Well to get money for a horsewhat you do is Whore yourself out (BAD but works) Mow lawns for people Walk dogs Show your mom how responsible you are. Research as much as you can on horses. And show her you are a responsible young lady. Do things around the house. Save up birthday money
  4. Oh good luck! Horses are so expensive, especially there vet bills! but anyways money saving ideas. Hmmm babysitting is the big one! Offer to cook for your mother 3 times a week... but of course make money deal with her. Try doing more chores and c if you get an allowance. On your birthdays just ask for cash. On christmas ask just for cash. Horses are more than 1,000. dollars. So saving up is not going to be quick. It is going to take alot of time and effort. My friend ali, is 14 and she is still! saving for her horse and she started when she was 12. But i hope everything works out! Good Luck amiga :)
  5. horses are a big responsibility as you may know, you will need ample space for it and a lot of grazing ground. The upkeep will cost you a lot more in the long run than just purchasing it alone would cost. I think this is a great dream, just try and make sure u can give the hhorse a happy, healthy life. I agree with the person before me, save a horse's life while you're at it... get one from a slaughterhouse! you can start by doing odd jobs around the ouse or in your neghborhood and saving ur allowance if u get one... when youre old enough, geta joba nd save all of that money too.. ull have enough in no time! good luck! =)
  6. Gas prices have fallen in the past few months but what happens when they start to go back up? I think the gas will go back up and I have heard rumors as such. It's always better to know how to save on gas then to not. In our world today the price of gas is making us rethink how we spend our money. It's so hard to make our paychecks stretch with the rise in gasoline prices. So, learn how you can save money on gas by improving your gas mileage. Be A More Efficient Driver Do the speed limit: Your gas mileage will go down rapidly if you go over 60 MPH. Don't be an aggressive driver: If you don't speed when you start and stop and you drive slowly and carefully when in town you can really improve your gas mileage up to 5%. Don't let your car sit and idle: This is such a waste of gas and just takes money right out of your pocket. This is also a cause of pollution so please turn off your engine if you know your going to be a while before driving again. Do all your running at one time: When you start and stop your car a lot you can use twice as much fuel then if you were to take one trip and cover the same amount of miles when the engine is still warm. When it's appropriate use your cruise control and overdrive gears: Doing this will greatly improve the gas mileage of the car when driving long distances on the thruway or highways. Take out any extra weight in the trunk: Did you know that even an extra 100 pounds in your trunk can decrease your cars fuel economy by up to 2%. If at all possible don't pack things on top of your car: If you load your roof rack this can cause wind resistance and will lower your cars fuel economy by 5%. Maintenance For Your Car Tune Your Engine: Keeping your engine tuned up can increase your gas mileage on an average of 4%. This can vary by the cars current condition. Properly align and inflate your tires: This can increase your cars gas mileage by up to 3%. Keep your oil changed regularly: Use the proper grade of oil for your car and change your oil every 3 months or every 2,000 miles. Change your air filters regularly: When you replace clogged air filters you can increase your cars gas mileage by up to 10%. At the Pump Use only the octane level that your car needs. Refer to your owner manual to make sure what octane level your car needs. For most of the cars out there, regular gas is all that is needed. So, unless your engine is making a knocking noise buying the more expensive stuff is just a total waste of your money. Do your errands all at one time: Taking many short trips and cold starting your engine many times in a row can actually use twice as much fuel as one trip going the same distance when your engine is warm so pick a day and do all your errands on that day. Miscellaneous Carpool: There are many place in cities these days that make it easy to carpool by matching up the commuters. You can also get together with other parents and carpool your kids to school and after school activities. Stay away from those gas saving gizmos: Please be very skeptical about any gadget that is promising you that it will improve your gas mileage. The EPA tests many of these things and has found that very few actually give you any kind of fuel benefits. In fact, there are some out there that may actually damage your engine and cause excess exhaust fumes.
  7. i know how ya feel. tell your parents that horse owning can be as expensive as you make it, meaning you can pay $600 for a stable with useless doo-dahs or $100 or $150 for pasture board at a nice stable with the appropiate needs and friendly people. also i got a $500 dollar's worth saddle for like less than $200 off ebay. lol. and grooming stuff for like $5 each, and a halter and leadrope for like $40 total. they can be expensive but you only have to buy them once, and your done with that. I bought all my grooming stuff and halter stuff myself, and my parents bought the horse and i work off some of the boarding then my parents pay the rest of the needed amount. ONLY SOME shots can be giving by owner for a horse's vet needs the rest are gonna be needed by a vet, a good trim on a horse's hooves are about $30 not sure about shoes, but shoes last for a good while and so does a trim. wormers are like $15 i think. you can get that can you? also one more tip: try to get a yearling or a 2 year old. they range from like $500-$1,000 and you can train them the riding type you want and they will grow up with you and love you a lot. thats what i did, and me and my horse have the strongest bond. :) ONE MORE THING!! its the last i promise. tell your mom that my friend's step mom once said that owning a horse can be as much of a owning price as a dog, but be aware she has her own land, but there are really cheap good boarding stables out there. trust me! i found one!! hope it helped and good luck. ^^
