Should Brett Favre play or retire permanently?
Is it me or Brett Favre is getting crazier every time I see him on the news? What's your opinion? Should he play or retire permanently?

- i say retire. he is first of all getting old above 40 now i think. on top of that he had a shoulder injury and the doc said he will never be able to throw like he used to. if i were him i would take what i got and just plain retire.
- He's my favorite player. i love the packers and he left us but i don't hold it against him,he just wants to play. he loves the game so much and is the most entertaining player to watch. i would love to see him still play but i personally think he should retire. i think he should have retired after he left the packers to end on a good note but unfortunately he didn't. in my opinion there will never be another quarterback like him again.
- OMG he's totally playing the NFL. He says he's retiring from the Jets so they let him go. If he had not done that and he wanted to go somewhere else they would trade him to someone he might not want to go to. So he's such a player and I can't stand him since I am from Minnesota and since the Packers are a rival of Minnesota from what I have heard I'm not that into football but at this point I say just go away Brett and retire already. How may times can someone cry wolf and pretend to retire. It's just soooo stupid at this point in my opinion. Hey if you love Farve you won't like this answer but what's with the retiring every year it's just messed up. Seriously people he retires every year.
- You mean retire or play permanently.
- Retire!!! He is becoming a joke...........why not just fade out into infamy......now, he is going to end up looking like a jerkoff.
- i think brett is still better than some QB's let the old guy play , he is the IRONMAN
- I think out of all thiz mess he should retire and not only that but even his daughter came out in public and told the news reports that her and her family plan on going on some vacation thiz summer...And not only that but when iz he going to turn forty haven't they been saying he has been 39 for two years dang...
- He's turning out to be the NFL's version of a DRAMA QUEEN. If you like play, PLAY. If you like retire, RETIRE ALREADY! Next stop Canton...
- I would actually love brett farve to comeback again. he's an awesome QB. It would be very interesting seeing brett farve go back to his old home and beat the packers! I hope his shoulder is ok, so that he can sign with the vikings, but then when brett farve does retire, the vikings will no longer have a good QB!
- If he can still play, then he should play. http://footballmansports.blogspot.com
- Retire. He is hurting his legacy simply by bringing up the idea. If he still wants to be a part of the game, he should start coaching.
- I personally believe that its the media over-hyping this story once again. So many people are blaming this guy of stories that are so false its crazy. Favre hasnt said anything or has been seen by the media and people are acting as if he has been talking about it in public. No one knows except him and his family. Even his own agent has no idea whats going on. I believe if his shoulder is fine, and the tendon or whatever bursts on its own or in sugery and heals in the expected 4-8 weeks, fully participates in off-season activities, has the drive and dedication for another year then he should play. The year Elway led the Broncos to the Super Bowl he had the same injury Favre has now and it didnt effect him after the 4-8 weeks. If he can play then I see this as a win-win for the Viking organization. They will be more productive on Offense because opposing Defenses will no longer be able to put 8 men in the box since they will have passing game. It will help Favre's diminishing arm by playing 11 games in domed stadiums were there is no wind factor. It would also help his arm by setting up a package of plays similar to Steve Smiths in Carolina, such as quick slants, and WR screens to Percy Harvin and im sure it wouldnt hurt to throw the occasional deep ball to Berrian. It will help the Vikings orginization bring in money and could eventually help them obtain a new stadium in the future.

- retire he has shoulder problems
- I think he should do what he wants to without getting criticized by you and the other haters on here. The guy is an all-time legend for crissakes. Treat him as such. When did you see him TV? He isn't fueling this. it's all the media.
- Favre should be done. He showed last season that he is nowhere near what he was in 07 with the Packers, and his arm is not good enough anymore. Besides, no one would want to see ESPN cover Favre non-stop like last summer. I sure as hell don't want to see that again.
- Still a good QB. Better than half of all starting QBs in the NFL. He should play until he can't make roster.
- I personally think if he comes back its a big mistake. He wont be able to take the hits li9ke he use to, and on top of that he already has passing yards records, completeion records, d records, and unfortunately the interception record. Right now he's still considered over-rated but good, if he stays he will throw many more interceptions and become overrated and crappy..
- I don't care if he plays or retires. I am not a packer backer or a vik-queens fan, but I think it would be a mistake for him to play for a NFC North team unless it is GB. I can't believe a franchise QB would sign with a the team rival....is there no loyalty at all? He may not owe the packers but he sure as hell owes the fans! Bret if you want to play then play don't retire, if you want to be retired don't hold meeting with teams coaches!
- retire. no question about it man.
- I hope he comes back and plays the Packers at Lambeau and the story book ending he wants comes to and nightmare. The Packers sack him repeatly and end with him getting his arm broken in 2 places ending any futrue comeback talks!
- I agree with you because I do not think Brett Favre should continue football if he gets cut or traded? If I was him and I cannot find a football team, I should retire from the NFL. Similar to last years, I thought he was going to retire. I was thinking, Brett Favre should be commentator for NFL.
- his old ass needs to retire
- play
- RETIRE PERMANENTLY. He should have retired after the last season with the Packers, which was one of the best or THE best season of his career. He basically ruined his career by playing with the Jets, and he will demolish it if he comes back this year.
- Favre has done enough for the NFL, it would be interesting for me to see him play one more season (especially w/ the Vikes), but he should've retired with the Packers because it would've should he had more respect as a player with the Pack.
- Brett Favre is the third best guy to ever play football (first Jerry Rice,Second Joe Montana) but now, he is tarnishing his legacy...coming back just to spite the team that made him what he is? its wrong. I hope he stays retired, he is past his prime
