How can i save money?

Well my family and i are becoming a little poor and i was wondering if there are any ways to save some money...im about to go into high school and i need a new laptop...my mom also wants to go on a little vaction in state...and basically there are too many bills. im not sure how to save some money! I seriously need some help! Please!

Live below your means. -Stop drinking colas. -Eat in more instead of eating fast food and restaurants. -Save at least 15% of your income and learn about investing. -Watch out for late fees. -Never co-sign a credit card with anyone. If they don't pay you will have to pay. -Be careful who you marry. -Buy a used car instead of new. -Rent movies from library or cheap rental place instead of going to the movies. (Check out Redbox) -Buy used clothes from thrift stores. -Live with your parents. -Avoid junk food and candy that cost money and will hurt your health. -Avoid expensive dental bills by flossing and brushing your teeth. -Invest in your education by going to a good college or tech school. -Be careful of bad friends that only want you to spend your money.
2. Well, first look for a job if you do not already have one. Then put the money from your paycheck into a savings account. When I was in high school, my rule of thumb was if my check was less than 100, all went into the bank. if it was between 100-199, at least 100 had to go into the bank, if it was 200-299, at least 200 had to go into the bank... minus paying for car insurance each month. If you keep putting the majority of the money of your check in the bank account each month, you will save enough money to soon buy yourself a new laptop and perhaps help your mom on the vacation she needs!
