- there is no such thing as philippines girl.
- If your Social Security Check is not less that US$1,000.00 a month, your chance of staying longer in the Philippines is quite easy and possible. Ask a lawyer to help you! He knows better than any one. And when you are already in the Philippines, be sure to stay away from the "maddening crowd"!
- I suggest that you keep in touch with those retired American men that are currently living in the Philippines by visiting this site. Some of them are contributors to YAP and hopefully someone could help you and answer your question/s. Good luck!
- Just notify SSA before you come, set up an auto-deposit retirement account at a bank such as BPI and you are good to go.
- Access your money at any atm machine in Philippines. Just have your bank turn off international restrictions before you leave home. Stay on a tourist visa up to a year with 2-month extensions. If you still like it, change your status to permanent resident. Or, take your wife to Hong Kong, VietNam or something and when you come back you can get Balikbayan visa which is good for a year, no extensions.
- you will qualify for a marriage visa (13-A). Find out more from the Bureau of Immigration (branch office along Gil Puyat is a better bet). Process takes about 2 months, good for one year probationary period and extended permanently (9-A) based on no degratory records after that. Yeah, like the guy says above, stay away from the maddening crowd. You can also extend your 28days entry monthly for up to a year. Write me if you wanna know more. Ingat............
- You can only reside in the Philippines for 6 months at a time and then return to USA quickly and another 6 months the only way you can stay there permanently is by applying for Filipino citizenship.
- you can buy a condominiun in boracay, its a very nice place for a retired like you. I know a resort in which they sell a unit with two bedroom and there is also a one bedroom unti. if you want to find more details about it, you can visit the website below or you can also email them at lingganay@gmail.com
