Where is best place to retire to in Central America ?
I am 70, divorced, in excellent health but am no longer wealthy, - a victim of the down economy. Am sick of the expensive cost of living here in SW Florida and wondering if I could get by renting in Central America comfortably on my ss income of $1,800/mo, without living like St Francis of Assisi ? Cannot afford to buy a home anymore.

- Guatemala would be the perfect choice. only 1,200$ a month culd get u in a very nice 2 bedroom apartment. but it is very clean nice and modern. also, almost everything is cheap there. homes are very cheap and nice too.
- Nicaragua is a good choice for you.Alot of retire people go there.

- A lot of Americans retire to Costa Rica, though Panama has some interesting incentives that you might want to look into (and the town of Boquet is a tranquil place that attracts a fair number of American retirees). Just a couple ideas... Good luck!
