does a deceased veterans wife still get his military retirement?
if he put in enough years like 20 or more does his retirement continue to pay to his wife until she dies?

- She does not. However there is a method of "insuring" a portion of the retirement check so the spouse continues to receive a percentage.
- I belive it depends on the specific retirement plan and he should have had some sort of life insurance. Seek an attorney, only they can give you 100% accuracy for that.
- Not unless he has signed up for the survivors benefit program (SBP) which is basically an insurance program that depending on how much he pays into it will ensure that his wife will get a portion of his retirement for her life. And the spouse is who decides whether or not to sign up for SBP...not the service member.
