where is the best place to live in the usa when retired?

every one who retires seems to want to go to florida. when i get old i want a quiet place that is not so fast paced. any suggestions?

1. we have 3 houses...one in Florida, one in New York and one in Maine..we rotate where we live...sounds like we are rich...we are not...just a good plan...
2. Plan financially now. While young! Save and invest wisely. You will change your mind 20 times between now and then. I am 60 retire in 2 years and have it down to 3 places,or plans.
3. Florida , it has tax that benefit retired american.
4. People honestly do not retire or take breaks unless persons try to forcibly make you other then that I havent a clue.
5. Not all of Florida is fast paced. People go to Florida for warm weather and the tax advantages(no income tax). Same tax advantages exist in Texas, Utah, Washington state, Wyoming and South Dakota.
