What the difference between get stationed overseas nd in the states?

I wonder is you get higher pay or more benefits. What are the advantages and disadvantages of getting stationed overseas? *getting

1. When you are overseas it all depends on where you are station as to the type of duty pay you receive. When I was in northern Japan, I received Foreign duty pay, but those in Tokyo did not. I preferred serving overseas vs being in the states. It was more about the mission then it was about the protocol.
2. The US military is much more into mission and much less into military bs procedure at overseas locations. I spent most of my 4 years between Saigon and northern Japan.
