How much do you think you need to save for retirement?

What is your age, and what state do you live in? Realistically, what $$ amount do you feel you personally need to save in order to have a secure retirement.

California. ha so many factors! im gonna need about 6 million. i think that you can retire modestly on about 3 mill deppending on lifestyle and your portfolio. because if you retire at 55 and assume you will live till 90, that 35 years to fund. add that up. expenses dont go down like people say. they go up, traveling spoiling grankids, doing things you enjoy, medical, taxes, possibly long term care. eeeeeeh start saving now. oh if you are 35 years old it will cost $670 a month growing at 8% just to have a million saved by 65. how many millions do you want?
