Social Security benefits vs. Senatorial retirement..?
Does it bother you that, while our Social Security program is estimated to collapse by 2017, Congressmen, those who make the laws, as well as formed and control Social Security, have their own retirement benefits? The 2-year term laws were passed so that Congressmen would have to live with the laws that they made. But this kinda.. goes against that theory. Doesn't it..?

- well if i could vote myself a big retirement and make them live in poverty....i'd do it
- Social security will not collapse in 2017. That is pure hysteria. If I remember correctly that is the year that the promised entitlements will exceed the revenue. That is already the case with our entire federal government. The government can engage in deficit spending without "collapsing" although it will come back to bite us eventually. It is also pretty sad that we are engaging in deficit spending during an economic boom in contravention of keynesian economics.
